Fáilte (Welcome) to the
Clifford-Hoban Branch of Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann!

Santa Cruz/Monterey, CA

Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann (pronounced "coal-tus kyol-tory air-un") is an international organization dedicated to the advancement of traditional Irish music, language, dance, and culture. Translation from the Irish (Gaelic) name is roughly "A Gathering of Irish Musicians."

The organization (often called CCE) was founded in Ireland in 1951, at a time when Irish music and other traditions were in danger of being ignored. Since then, thousands of people in CCE have helped to propagate and invigorate traditional Irish culture. CCE has no political or religious agenda, and you do not have to be Irish to participate.

Logo The Clifford-Hoban branch of CCE, now eight years old, is one of only four branches in the Western U.S. We sponsor many activities, including traditional music and singing sessions, céilís (social dances with live music), house parties, classes, workshops, house concerts, and a film festival. Our group is very friendly and open to new members!
